Chelsea are ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Mohammed Kudus – and have allegedly made the Ajax No.20 a better salary offer.
That is according to Ben Jacobs.
So, what is the latest on Chelsea target Mohammed Kudus? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to the Evening Standard – Chelsea spoke to the Ghana international personally about a move to Stamford Bridge a few days ago, after making contact with Ajax last week.
Now – according to Jacobs – Chelsea are the club to keep an eye on when it comes to signing Kudus, as the Blues are putting a better wage packet on the table.
The CBS Sports journalist told Give Me Sport: “Nothing has really moved with Arsenal and Kudus at this point.
“They made an inquiry a couple of weeks back, but I think that it’s fair to say at this stage that Chelsea are the more active on Kudus and perhaps have even offered him a slightly better package as well, so I would be looking at Chelsea more than Arsenal at this stage.”

The 22-year-old has made his way onto the radar of Chelsea and Arsenal after scoring 18 goals, while also providing seven assists, in 42 appearances last season.
Chelsea have a plan for Kudus
If the Blues do manage to beat Arsenal to Kudus, it sounds as if Mauricio Pochettino already has a plan for the Ghanaian.
According to respected journalist Simon Phillips – who was posting on his Substack – the Argentine plans to use the £40m man in a No.10 role after losing Mason Mount and Kai Havertz this summer.

Kudus played in that area for Ajax on nine occasions last season, while also making several appearances on the right wing, and also as a striker.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Chelsea seem to be the most likely destination for Kudus this summer.
