Chelsea are in danger of missing out on one of their key targets this summer, Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

Rogers has long been linked with a move to Chelsea after some impressive campaigns in the Premier League.

Last season, the attacking midfielder scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 37 top-flight outings.

He has since attracted interest from several top English clubs, which complicates things for Chelsea in their bid to sign him.

Who do you want to see Chelsea sign for each of these positions? 👀

On Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, journalist Simon Phillips has claimed that throughout the whole of last season, Rogers was keen to join the Blues.

According to Phillips, Chelsea have been throwing everything at the 23-year-old and have promised him that he will be a key player.

However, Arsenal and possibly Manchester United are now ahead of Chelsea in the race for Rogers’ signature because of the Club World Cup holders’ failure to secure European football.

Missing out on Rogers this summer would be a major blow for Chelsea. Their long-term target can play on the left wing, where Xabi Alonso needs reinforcements, and behind the striker.

How would you rank Chelsea’s so-called “untouchables” ahead of the new season?

Here is The Chelsea Chronicle's list!

6. Estevao Willian

5. Levi Colwill

4. Moises Caicedo

He would be such a useful player to have around and someone who would improve the attack. There is no doubt that Rogers would be an upgrade on Alejandro Garnacho, whose move to west London has turned into a disaster.

Garnacho provided four assists in 24 Premier League appearances last term, but he only managed to score one goal. It is now being reported that Chelsea could already offload Garnacho; however, it is far from guaranteed that Rogers is going to be his replacement based on the above.

Jamie Gittens is set to stay, and he will be a left-wing option if he can remain fit this time. The former Borussia Dortmund man missed a large chunk of the previous campaign because of injury.
