Nicolas Jackson’s future has been the biggest talking point at Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Jackson let the Blues down with red cards in the Premier League run-in and the Club World Cup, and so the decision was made for him to leave.
Chelsea found it difficult to find any suitors willing to match their asking price before eventually settling for a loan-to-buy deal with Bayern Munich.
Jackson travelled to Munich to undergo a medical and sign his contract, but Liam Delap’s hamstring injury against Fulham scuppered his plans.
Chelsea cancelled the loan move and told Jackson to return to London, where he would stay unless they could find a permanent departure.
It seemed likely that Jackson would sign for an interested Premier League club on deadline day until they recently finalised a deal for another striker instead.

Newcastle sign Nicolas Jackson alternative on deadline day
While Bayern Munich were unwilling to sign Nicolas Jackson on a permanent deal, Newcastle United were interested in him as a replacement for Alexander Isak.
Isak has agreed to join Liverpool for around £130 million, leaving Newcastle with plenty of money to spend in the final hours of the window.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the Northeast club are expected to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
After spending £45 million on Wissa and £69m on Nick Woltemade last week, there is no chance they will also sign Jackson in this window.
The Chelsea forward is now running out of options to move elsewhere, with another Premier League side potentially his only option.

Nicolas Jackson has another Premier League suitor
Romano reported earlier in the window that Aston Villa had made Jackson their top target for the striker position.
Since selling former Blues target Jhon Duran to the Saudi Pro League, Villa have been looking for a forward to compete with Ollie Watkins.
Head coach Unai Emery has an excellent relationship with Jackson after working together at Villarreal, and he would love to bring him in.
However, Villa have struggled to sign players all summer due to PSR issues, and it’s unclear whether they could agree on the finances of a deal with Chelsea.
