Chelsea are now “set to sell” Malang Sarr and Baba Rahman this summer as the clear-out at Stamford Bridge continues.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

So, what is the situation involving Malang Sarr and Baba Rahman? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the reliable Italian journalist confirmed that the Blues are expected to sell the pair on “permanent” deals this summer as Chelsea continue their squad overhaul.

Speaking on YouTube, Romano said: “Baba and Sarr are both players who Chelsea are set to sell this summer, because the idea is to find permanent solutions. They are on the market, the same goes for Aubameyang.”

Sarr, who earns £119,237-a-week at Stamford Bridge, spent last season on loan at Monaco.

However, the French side have since confirmed that they will not be signing the defender on a permanent basis, meaning Chelsea now have to find a new home for the 24-year-old.

Sarr suffered with a muscular abdominal injury during his time at Monaco, which hindered his chances to impress the Ligue 1 side.

In regards to Baba, the Ghana international – who cost Chelsea £14m – spent last season on loan at Reading, although the Royals are unlikely to sign him permanently following their relegation to League One.

Chelsea should have more urgency to sell Baba before Sarr

In our view, Chelsea should focus on selling Baba before Sarr.

Why? Well, the 29-year-old only has 12 months left on his contract, so this summer represents Chelsea’s last chance to recoup a decent fee for him, before he leaves on a free transfer at the end of next season.

In the case of Sarr, the Frenchman’s contract expires in June 2025, meaning Chelsea have a bit more time to find him a new permanent home without his value decreasing as quickly.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the pair both seem to have no future at Stamford Bridge.
