Fabrizio Romano has claimed on his YouTube channel that RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol is keen on a move to Chelsea.
The 20-year-old is the subject of a last-minute approach from the Blues this summer, with them reportedly entering advanced negotiations with the Bundesliga side.
The deal is likely to be structured so Leipzig can keep hold of him for this current campaign, before he would join up with the Blues in 2023.

The club showed interest in a deal earlier in the window, however the feeling they got was that the player, who has been nominated for the golden boy award this year, was untouchable.
However, Romano has claimed the Blues have made their first breakthrough in reaching a deal for the player, with Gvardiol himself keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
Gvardiol keen on Chelsea
He said: “In the last 24 hours, Chelsea submitted a proposal for Josko Gvardiol. 90 million euros to sign Gvardiol now but bring him to Chelsea in 2023. Let’s see if it will be completed.
“Let’s see if there will be chances for Chelsea to reach an agreement. The player is keen on the move, but it’s up to the clubs now. It’s short time, because they have 48 hours to complete the deal. But Chelsea are on it.”

While it seems a lot of money for a signing they won’t even have access to immediately, the club being set to announce Wesley Fofana in the coming hours means the desire for another centre back is not yet there.
With Thiago Silva potentially in his last season, and Cesar Azpilicueta likely not to be at the club for too much longer, adding one of the best young centre backs in the world next summer is an opportunity fans shouldn’t be put off by due to the price tag.
