Chelsea no longer want Raheem Sterling, but the club have not been able to offload him so far.
In the previous summer transfer window, Chelsea could only find Sterling a loan, sending him to London rivals Arsenal for the 2024/25 season.
Not being a success there, the Gunners purchasing the forward is not on the table, so that is one option that the Blues can rule out.
| Raheem Sterling’s 2024/25 record | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 17 | 0 | 2 |
| Champions League | 6 | 0 | 2 |
| FA Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| Carabao Cup | 4 | 1 | 1 |
| Total | 28 | 1 | 5 |
Bayer Leverkusen only want Sterling on loan, making a move to the German club unlikely as well, as Chelsea’s preference is a sale. Ultimately, Chelsea are in a tricky predicament with Sterling, but he could be about to help them out.

Raheem Sterling prepared to take pay cut to push through move to Fulham
Sterling moving across the road to Craven Cottage this summer is a possibility with Fulham interested in the 30-year-old, and he looks prepared to make sacrifices in order to make the transfer happen.
Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Fulham are keen on Sterling and that a switch to Marco Silva’s side appeals to the player.
According to Phillips, Sterling’s preference is to remain in London and, as a result, the England international is willing to take a pay cut in order to join Fulham.
He would be doing Chelsea a massive favour, as his wages are one reason why the Club World Cup winners are finding it so difficult to move him on.
Sterling is the highest-paid player at Chelsea, taking home £325,000 a week.

Simon Jordan thinks Raheem Sterling has been overhyped during his career
Sterling is not in the best form of his career at present. But even when he was, former Crystal Palace owner and talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan was never totally convinced.
When Jordan spoke about Sterling last week, he said: “I think he’s another one of those players that’s been built up to a level that I don’t think he was at.
“I think he’s had good games for England. [But] there’s a constant thread of managers that are prepared to marginalise him. Pep [Guardiola] did it at Manchester City.”
At Chelsea, the former City star has certainly not delivered and another exit, be it temporarily or permanently, is inevitable this summer. As of now, Fulham appear to be his most likely destination.
