RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol has admitted that he has an agreement with Chelsea over a potential January transfer.
The 20-year-old caught a lot of attention with his performance in the 2022 World Cup and has unsurprisingly generated a lot of transfer interest, including Chelsea.
The Blues were even reportedly close to signing the young centre-back last summer, although the move did not materialise and in the end, they brought in Wesley Fofana from Leicester City and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, instead.
Chelsea are expected to make another approach for Gvardiol in January, and according to the player himself, there is already an agreement in place for a possible mid-season transfer.

“They did not give up, but it was agreed that we would go for the winter,” the centre-back told Croatian outlet Danas when asked about a potential move to Chelsea.
“Winter has come, so we need to see what and how to proceed, but it’s okay, there’s still plenty of time, we’ll see.”
Gvardiol signed a new contract, which ties him to Leipzig until 2027, last September, so the agreement he claimed was likely made before that.
It remains unclear, however, if Chelsea are to make a move for the player this month.
The London club have recently signed another young defender, Benoit Badiashile, from AS Monaco, and, as it stands, arguably need to allocate their transfer budget for a midfielder or an attacker more than a new centre-back.
During the interview, the Croatia international further expressed his desire for a Premier League move.
“Since I was a child, I always gravitated towards the English league,” he explained.
“We all know what kind of league it is. I don’t know if I’m mature enough and ready for that league.
“We will see, when I feel that this is the moment, that I have crossed a certain level and reached the border in Germany, then I will look further.”
