Real Madrid encounter problem with offering players to Chelsea in Enzo Fernandez deal

Real Madrid are keen to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea this summer, but it is not going to be a straightforward transfer for Los Blancos.

There is a belief that Chelsea value Fernandez at £120m, a fee that Real Madrid do not want to pay.

Offering players in exchange could help bring the price down, but the Spanish club have hit a snag there.

Real Madrid players don’t want to join Chelsea

It does not seem like Chelsea are against the idea of doing some kind of swap deal with Real Madrid in this transfer window.

However, journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the players Real Madrid are offering have not budged so far.

According to Phillips, there are also players Chelsea like but are not available, making a swap deal very difficult at this moment in time.

The Blues have been linked with Alvaro Carreras in a separate deal. Phillips also broke that Chelsea have made checks on Carreras following Marc Cucurella’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but he does not appear desperate to join the Blues right now.

It is hardly a shock that Chelsea are struggling to lure players to Stamford Bridge. They finished 10th last season and will not be in the Champions League or any other European competition next term as a result.

Real Madrid players Chelsea are interested in

One Real Madrid player who is thought to have been on Chelsea’s radar for a while is Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Blues are also fans of Dean Huijsen, and it was even being reported at one point that Chelsea were interested in signing Huijsen and Tchouameni in deals that were separate from the Fernandez transfer.

A footballer of Tchouameni’s quality, though, is very unlikely to join a club who will not be in the Champions League.

Tchouameni would be a great addition to Chelsea, but regardless of what happens with Fernandez, it would be a bit of a surprise if he decided to move to west London.
