Real Madrid are now trying to hijack Chelsea’s move to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus – Carlo Ancelotti has even made a phone call about the striker.

That is according to Goal.

So, what is the latest on Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to Gazzetta dello Sport – Chelsea recently held talks about the Serbia international in London with Cristiano Giuntoli, Director of Football at Juventus.

The 51-year-old then revealed that Juventus will sell Vlahovic if they receive a significant bid due to their financial situation, with a separate story from Gazzetta dello Sport stating that Chelsea are preparing a £56m offer.

As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Giuntoli said:  It’s not a secret that we have to clarify our balance and accounts, so we have to consider huge proposals. It’s important to clarify that we trust Dusan and he’s part of our project.”

Now – however – Chelsea face serious competition for the Juventus No.9 as Real Madrid express interest.

Goal believe the Spanish giants have made an enquiry about Vlahovic, with Ancelotti also personally making a phone call to check on the 23-year-old’s situation at the Allianz Stadium.

The Serbian scored 14 goals in 42 appearances in the 2022/23 campaign as Juventus finished seventh in Serie A.

Vlahovic price could now go up as Real Madrid battle Chelsea

In our view, a bidding war could now commence for Vlahovic, which is hardly ideal for Chelsea.

The Blues looked to have a free run at the Serbian’s signature, with Gazzetta dello Sport stating that talks between Chelsea and Juventus happen regularly, and those at Stamford Bridge are serious about signing the striker.

Chelsea have, however, been busy trying to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton, while it was said that Mauricio Pochettino wanted to offload Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before signing a new striker.

That delay has now allowed Real Madrid to creep into the race – be sure to keep an eye on Vlahovic’s situation, as anything could happen this summer.
