European giants Real Madrid have reportedly registered ‘fresh interest’ in signing a key first-team Chelsea player.
Even though Chelsea are a long way behind the elite teams in the world right now, they do still have some world-class individuals in their ranks.
The Blues squad consists of many young talents with immense potential. Hopefully, they can stick together and grow under Enzo Maresca’s management for many years.
Spanish powerhouses Madrid have signed the likes of Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea over the years. Jody Morris thinks Rudiger was best at Chelsea despite the achievements since moving to the Spanish capital in 2022.
Now, Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid side are linked with another raid on Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid register interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed via Substack on Wednesday that Real Madrid have registered ‘fresh interest’ in signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea.
Apparently, the 24-year-old midfielder’s focus is solely on the Blues right now, while the club aren’t currently entertaining talks.
Phillips adds that Chelsea do have an interest in signing Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni, 25, in return, but the defensive midfielder would not be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.
Back in December 2023, Fernandez was linked as a Madrid target as they continue to bring the world’s best players to the Bernabeu. Thankfully, he’s still with the Blues and is going from strength to strength.

John Terry claims Enzo Fernandez has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season
During a recent interview, John Terry named Chelsea’s best players this season, including Fernandez.
Terry said: “Cole [Palmer] sticks out straight away. I think Enzo’s been very good. Noni [Madueke], I think he’s done well this year. He’s done a lot better, been really direct. I like [Pedro] Neto as well, so those kind of three or four would be my top.”
Fernandez is instrumental to the Blues side, both in and out of possession. It’s a big bonus that the central midfielder is starting to contribute more regularly as an attacking threat, too.
| Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 33 | 5 | 9 |
While it should be flattering for Fernandez to be linked with Madrid again, Chelsea need to ensure they keep him because he’s such an influential figure. The good news is that he’s on a long-term deal that doesn’t expire until 2032.
