Report: Club want to sell their £86m player to the Premier League with Chelsea keen to sign him

Reports have claimed that Chelsea have been offered a massive boost in their quest to sign Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix.

According to Goal in Spain, the La Liga side are more keen to sell to a Premier League club, given the fact they are most likely to secure a larger transfer fee from an English side.

Felix is finally beginning to live up to the hype that has surrounded him for a number of years now.

The 23-year-old has been a key player for Portugal during this World Cup, with them securing their place as one of the final eight teams at the tournament.

He perhaps put in his best performance in the Round of 16 thrashing against Switzerland. Conveniently, this came when the national team decided to drop free agent Cristiano Ronaldo.

Atletico want to sell Felix to England

Teammate and fellow Chelsea target Rafael Leao was full of praise for him after the last game. In an interaction on Instagram, the AC Milan winger described him as the ‘golden boy’.

With rumours of Felix wanting to end his stay in Madrid, the Blues are one of the clubs who have previously been linked with a move to sign him.

Goal in Spain have claimed their relationship with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, may help their efforts to sign him, with Atletico hopeful for more than £86m as a transfer fee.

Felix’s versatility would certainly make him a viable asset in the attack for Chelsea.

With Christopher Nkunku reportedly close to making the move to Stamford Bridge, it could be a new look, exciting frontline on display in West London.

While Felix has not reached the heights many expected of him when he made the big money move to La Liga, he has certainly shown in this World Cup that he has the capabilities to be a star for the next decade.
