The Sun have claimed that Chelsea have completely ended their interest in signing Wesley Fofana this summer.
The Blues have had three bids rejected for the 21-year-old this summer, as they have outlined him as their number one target for a defender before the window shuts.
The interest comes as manager Thomas Tuchel has wanted to complete his business at the back with one more signing.

Chelsea have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella this summer, with the pair both set to be important members of the first team going forwards.
They have also missed out on deals during the window too, with both Jules Kounde and Matthijs de Ligt at times looking likely to join the club before joining other sides.
Chelsea apparently pull out of Fofana race
The Sun have claimed that Fofana’s name could be about to join the list of missed targets this summer, with The Sun claiming they are set to turn their attention elsewhere in the final week of the window.
They have been surprisingly linked with a move for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, with the Englishman currently seemingly out of Erik ten Hag’s ideal starting side.
With him proving assertive for England on multiple occasions in a system similar to Chelsea’s, it is more than reasonable to say that Maguire would reignite his career if he was granted a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, the Blues should certainly continue to push on any deal for Fofana, safe in the knowledge that he is dreaming of a move to join the club.
He has recently been left out of Leicester’s matchday squad for the Premier League match against Southampton, with Brendan Rodgers claiming he is not currently in the mindset to perform at his best for the squad. This is despite the manager previously describing him as “amazing.”
With them getting closer with each bid, it is advisable that the club should just bit the bullet that comes with negotiations at this stage of the window.
