Reports have claimed that Manchester United are keen on signing Mason Mount from Chelsea at the end of the season.

According to The Athletic, Erik ten Hag’s side lead the way in terms of interest alongside fellow Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City.

There is likely to be plenty of transfer speculation regarding the 24-year-old for a number of months now, with talks over a new deal reportedly on hold until the end of the season.

It has emerged that the player has rejected a number of offers from the club over the last year, with him now approaching his final season under contract at Stamford Bridge.

And it has been claimed that Chelsea will not hesitate in selling him at the end of this campaign if no decision is come to regarding his future.

For a player who was so important not even a year ago, the turn in form for Mount has been nothing short of remarkable.

United want Mason Mount

He was recently dropped for the club’s most important game of the season, when they faced Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

However, the undoubted quality he has shown in his time under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel will certainly not have gone amiss on any potential suitor.

This is why The Athletic have claimed that three of the biggest clubs in world football are interested in his services.

Chelsea fans will be hopeful there is some sort of turnaround for the remainder of this season, with him creating a number of memories already in his career.

Selling to a club like United would only strengthen a side the Blues are looking to rival over the next few years, as they look to enter a new era with potential new owners.
