Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is more than keen to cut Chelsea’s bloated squad down this summer.
According to The Sun, the 51-year-old wants to sell as many as eight players in order to get the number down to around 25 players.
It is widely expected that Pochettino will be announced as the new Chelsea manager in the coming days, as the lengthy recruitment process looks finally set to come to an end.
Reports are already beginning to emerge regarding players that the Argentine is wanting to build his team around in West London.
These have included homegrown stars Mason Mount and Levi Colwill, who it was believed for a while were both going to be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Alongside these claims, there have been the ones over which players will be surplus to requirements.
Pochettino wants to sell eight players
It is well known that a number of players will need to be sold this summer in order to balance the books following two strong windows in a row in terms of investment.
This could see somewhat of a fire sale at Stamford Bridge with a number of squad players likely to be at risk.

The midfielder has endured another season of sporadic appearances, with a large portion of them coming in an unfamiliar right-back role.
In order to sign in the spine positions that Pochettino wants the club to address, they will need to make sure they sell a number of stars on high wages in order to avoid any mishaps regarding financial fair play.
