Report: Highly-rated 19-year-old considers Chelsea preferred destination

Report: Sought-after 19-year-old considers Chelsea his preferred summer destination

Three clubs are in the race for Inter Milan talent Cesare Casadei with Chelsea being his preferred destination, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Having already signed Gabriel Slonina, who stays Chicago Fire on a short-term loan deal, and Carney Chukwuemeka, Chelsea continue their search for young prospects this summer.

The 19-year-old, who registered 17 goals and five assists across several youth competitions last season, has reportedly generated serious interest from three clubs; Chelsea, Serie A side Sassuolo, and Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.

Corriere dello Sport claims that Inter have started a bidding war between these clubs, and they expect to receive bids in the region of €15million (£12.7m) for the young midfielder.

A previous report from Sky Italia mentioned that Chelsea had their initial offer worth €7-8m turned down by Inter, although Fabrizio Romano recently added that the Blues will be back with an improved proposal.

Corriere dello Sport suggests Chelsea would be prepared to meet the asking price eventually, although they are still hoping to negotiate a lower fee.

The Blues, however, would reportedly not agree to any buy-back clause, which Sassuolo are said to be willing to offer.

Instead, the report adds that Inter would want add-ons or a certain percentage of the potential future transfer fee of the player.

Fortunately for Chelsea, Casadei is reportedly interested in moving to Stamford Bridge, and the player’s desire is expected to play an important part in the possible deal.
