Jonathan David has revealed his desire to potentially play in the Premier League one day, amidst reported interest from Chelsea.
Speaking to the Independent, the Lille striker opened up about his love for England’s top division, where he has plenty of suitors in waiting.
David will be able to retrain his focus onto his club future, now Canada have crashed out of the World Cup.
The 22-year-old was unable to score himself or help his nation secure a single point in the group stage.

He started the first two matches, and then came off the bench in the 2-1 defeat to Morocco last night.
Expectations had been high for the forward to impress on the international stage, following several strong seasons in France.
Jonathan David delivers for Lille
Leading up to the tournament, David had scored nine goals for Lille, having bagged 19 the season before.
His previous campaign earned him the interest of Europe’s heavy hitters, including Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge chain of command were actually afforded a good look at their apparent target, when he took on the Blues in the Champions League round of 16 in February.
Much like the World Cup, he failed to score as his side bowed out of the competition.
Much like his World Cup exit, however, there is still seemingly a desire to remove him from his French settlement, even if the player himself is not conscious of the interest.

“I am aware of nothing,” admitted David following the loss to Morocco yesterday.
“When I am at the World Cup I am just focused on trying to enjoy the World Cup and enjoying the moment, and what happens after I do not know, we will have to see.
“The Premier League is the best league in the world and I think every player would want to play there some day.”
Is David destined for Chelsea?
Perhaps your dream will come true sooner than imagined, David.
Chelsea appear to be in the market for a lead marksmen, having yet to be enthralled by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Portugal pair Rafael Leao and Joao Felix have been mentioned, whilst Christopher Nkunku’s switch to Stamford Bridge is all but sealed.

Yet, all three attackers will cost considerably more than David, who’s value is said to be around the £52m mark.
If Todd Boehly is banking on a bargain, perhaps look in the direction of Lille’s number nine.
