Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Newcastle are not worried about the potential of Chelsea signing Bruno Guimaraes.
Rumours have emerged over the last week that the Blues were keen on completing the signing of the midfielder, with a number of European giants monitoring the player.
Guimaraes has established himself as one of the best players in his position in the league. Since his move in January, he has received a lot of praise.

Pundit Danny Murphy described him as ‘clever’ and labelled him the best signing the club have made since the new owners took over.
Jacobs has claimed that the Magpies are preparing to offer a new deal for Guimaraes, potentially forcing Chelsea to be patient in their efforts to sign him.
Chelsea have to wait for Guimaraes
He said: “Newcastle are not worried about losing Bruno Guimarães. He’s happy, settled and under contract until 2026. Told there is no chance the club will accept any offers in January. They do plan to offer him improved terms, knowing suitors will try to lure him away in summer 2023.
“But even without them in place, and due to time left on his contract, told Bruno is only focused on Newcastle and trying to get them into Europe this season. Clubs chasing him are going to have the play the long game. He’s relishing being part of Newcastle’s rise right now.”

This news could see the Blues look elsewhere in the market to strengthen their midfield next summer.
They have been strongly linked with signing Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, although their quality on the big stage will see them being two of the most desired players in world football.
With the potential for Chelsea to go into next season without N’golo Kante and Jorginho, the need is there to sign a top-class replacement.
