Journalist Christian Falk has claimed that Bayern Munich made an attempt to sign Chelsea forward Kai Havertz this summer.
The German has produced inconsistent performances this season, although will be hoping his latest display is what is needed to kick start his time at Stamford Bridge.
Havertz produced a sensational strike in the second half to help Chelsea to a 2-1 victory over RB Salzburg.

The goal saw the Blues confirmed as group winners with a game to spare, a sensational achievement given where the club stood in the competition after two games gone.
While Havertz’s contributions have been rarer than everyone would have liked, it can’t be denied how important they have been.
His header against Wolves finally broke the deadlock in the Premier League, while he struck late to give the Blues the lead in the London derby against West Ham United while Thomas Tuchel was in charge.
Havertz approached by Bayern
His underlying talent has not gone unnoticed by some of Europe’s biggest teams. Falk has claimed that Bayern are the latest to launch an attempt.
He said: “TRUE: Bayern Munich asked the agents of Kai Havertz last summer for a Transfer. Answer: No!”
Despite not showing what he can do on a consistent basis, the moments of brilliance he pulls out should be enough to prove that he certainly has a future at Stamford Bridge.

It could be a case of Graham Potter working out what it seems Tuchel was unable to do – finding the best position to feature the 23-year-old in.
For Germany, Havertz seems to relish in a role behind the striker, where he seemed to float towards against Salzburg.
The Blues will be hoping that one of their frontmen become standout options for the number nine role, with Armando Broja waiting in the wings behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
