Chelsea could now finally see their £25m asking price for Christian Pulisic met by AC Milan – thanks to an unusual source of funds.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

So, what is the latest on Christian Pulisic at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well – according to the Daily Mail – Chelsea want £25m for the United States international.

AC Milan are not in a position to spend that much on Pulisic, and Gazzetta dello Sport believe the Italian giants most recently tried to close a deal for €15m (£13m) – although Chelsea rejected that proposal.

Now – however – Puma could step in to ensure Chelsea get their £25m.

The Italian news outlet explain how Pulisic wears Puma boots, and Puma also provide kit for AC Milan as an official sponsor.

It is said that Puma know just how marketable Pulisic is, given his status as the most famous American player – he is even nicknamed Captain America – and are willing to help his move to AC Milan go through.

If the 24-year-old does end up at the San Siro, Puma’s thinking is that he will ensure many AC Milan shirts with his name on the back are sold across the United States.

Pulisic happy to leave Chelsea for AC Milan

By the sounds of it, disagreements over the fee are all that is stopping Pulisic from joining AC Milan.

An update from Fabrizio Romano stated that the Chelsea No.10 is keen on a move to the San Siro.

The Evening Standard added that Pulisic is hugely frustrated in west London after making just eight Premier League starts last season, and would like to leave.

Therefore, if Puma help AC Milan meet Chelsea’s £25m asking price, we believe this transfer will be finalised pretty quickly – be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
