Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has claimed that he is already really missing have one former teammate around.

He took to Instagram to state that he is missing having Hakim Ziyech around ever since he was sold late in the summer transfer window.

It looked certain for the entire summer that Ziyech was going to be on the move after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Ever since joining the club, he struggled to establish himself as a regular under any of the permanent managers who have come and gone.

It looked as if the same fate was awaiting him under Mauricio Pochettino too. The Morocco international was not part of the travelling squad that took on a pre-season campaign in the United States.

However, there were genuine struggles to actually get rid of him.

After coming to an agreement on a deal earlier in the summer, Ziyech failed his medical ahead of a proposed move to Saudi Arabia.

He finally got his move away in the latter days of the window, as he turned up to a raucous crowd at Galatasaray.

He will have the opportunity again to play Champions League football, and will no doubt be looking forward to a group stage match against Manchester United.

While it may have seemed like he wouldn’t be missed too much at Stamford Bridge, it appears as if one of his teammates wishes he was still here.

Fofana took to Instagram to post a picture of the pair on his story, whilst saying he missed the 30-year-old.

It looks set to be a long season coming up for Fofana, as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury that will rule him out of most of the season.
