Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku is starting to become really complicated.

Christopher Nkunku has become a target at the Allianz Arena, with Vincent Kompany hoping to boost his attack. In fact, it is already thought that Nkunku has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich.

However, Chelsea are not making things easy for the German giants, who also face competition from other clubs for the player’s signature.

Nkunku has only made three starts in the Premier League this season, hence why his future is uncertain right now.

Chelsea want ‘world-class’ replacement for Christopher Nkunku

Chelsea look in no mood to weaken their squad this month amid their battle for Champions League qualification.

According to Sky Sports, the Blues want £70m for Nkunku and will only sell the Frenchman once they have lined up a “world-class” replacement.

The same outlet has also claimed that two Premier League clubs have now enquired about Nkunku, complicating things even further for Bayern.

If he does not leave during the January transfer window, Nkunku could depart Chelsea in the summer.

Mathys Tel deal would have made Christopher Nkunku transfer easier

While Bayern are keen on Nkunku, Chelsea also have an interest in one of the Bundesliga outfit’s players.

Mathys Tel has been the subject of a Chelsea enquiry, but it does not look like the 19-year-old will be moving to Stamford Bridge this month, which could have ramifications for Nkunku.

The same Sky Sports report says that Nkunku joining Bayern would have been more likely had his compatriot been willing to move to Chelsea, but Tel does not want to.

All in all, a lot needs to happen if Nkunku is to get his switch to Bayern this month. It would be such a big transfer, especially for January. It is the kind of transfer you see in the summer rather than winter, and the France international may have to wait until then for his Chelsea exit.
