Chelsea look ready to go against their own rules to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer.
Victor Osimhen has been linked to Chelsea for a while now, but a deal has never been straightforward.
The 25-year-old has a reported £110m release clause in his contract, while Chelsea have quite a strict wage structure these days.
At one stage, it looked like there was no chance of Osimhen moving to Stamford Bridge during this transfer window. However, a switch now seems possible again.
Former defender Scott Minto thinks Osimhen can fire Chelsea to fourth if they sign him this summer.

Chelsea could give Victor Osimhen big contract
Since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea have changed their wage structure, not offering the kind of money the club used to.
They now seem prepared to make an exception for Osimhen, though. According to The Independent, Chelsea are willing to be flexible with their rigid wage structure when it comes to the Nigerian.
While that may remove one obstacle, the Blues still need to agree a deal with Napoli, which has proven difficult so far.
Chelsea could offer Romelu Lukaku and money. If not, then they will probably have to trigger his release clause, which seems unlikely given how high it is.
Chelsea more likely to sign Samu Omorodion
There is a chance that Chelsea sign Osimhen and Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion. The Telegraph recently reported that the Blues want both players.
However, with Nicolas Jackson already part of Enzo Maresca‘s squad, the likelihood is that the club bring in just one of them.
And right now, a deal for Omorodion looks way less complicated, so you would expect him to be the striker who ends up at Stamford Bridge if Chelsea do decide that they are only going to sign one player for that position before the transfer window closes.
Omorodion made 34 league appearances while out on loan at Alaves last season, scoring eight goals for the Spanish side.
