Chelsea will try to sign a No.10 who can also operate out wide after announcing the signing of Djordje Petrovic.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

So, what is the latest Chelsea transfer news coming from Stamford Bridge? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, transfer news regarding Chelsea has died down a bit following the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

A £14m deal has been agreed with New England Revolution for Petrovic – who will undergo a medical ahead of his move to west London on Thursday.

Aside from the Serbian goalkeeper – however – nothing else seems close for Chelsea, although Mauricio Pochettino knows exactly what he’s after in the transfer market.

Romano told That’s Football TV: “They are looking at a creative player. I think they will try to sign the same player they wanted to sign in Michael Olise. For Chelsea, the priority is to sign that type of player, a player who can play as a No.10 and can play on the wing.”

Chelsea transfer news – two standout options for Pochettino

In our view, we think Rayan Cherki or Mohammed Kudus will be the versatile forward Chelsea end up signing this summer.

Both the Lyon No.18 and the Ajax No.20 tick the box of being able to play out wide or centrally, while the pair are also highly creative footballers.

A story from 90min claimed that West Ham are making strong progress on a deal for Kudus, although the Hammers are wary of Chelsea hijacking the deal.

A separate article from Football London stated that Chelsea wanted to finalise the signing of Caicedo before turning attention towards a deal for Cherki.

Now a move for the Ecuador international has been completed – as well as the signing of Lavia – we expect Chelsea to push on with a deal for Kudus or Cherki before transfer deadline day on September 1st.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Blues could even target a surprise name rather than Cherki or Kudus.
