While Chelsea fans may be celebrating the rumours that they’re about to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto, there must be players at Stamford Bridge wondering what the deal means for their futures.
There’s been another story unfolding at Stamford Bridge in what’s turning out to be a wild summer transfer window for the Blues, this time with the speculation that Pedro Neto is on his way to join them.
Journalist Fabrice Hawkins was the first to break the transfer news on Friday via X that Wolves attacker Neto is expected join Chelsea.
In addition, journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed via X that Chelsea will initially pay £51m to sign Neto.
Now, the supporters from both English clubs are just waiting for some sort of official announcement. In the meantime, it’s worth noting down in the calendar that Wolves host Chelsea at Molineux Stadium on 25 August in the second round of Premier League fixtures.

How Pedro Neto arrival impacts Noni Madueke
Neto, 24, is a super talented winger that is surely coming to West London with the intention of breaking into the best starting line-up. When fit, the Portuguese attacker has proven he’s electric in the top division.
However, there’s a number of forwards already on the books at Stamford Bridge vying for a position.
According to The Telegraph, Neto’s arrival could encourage teams to make approaches for Blues wingers Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling.
It is explained that Chelsea are not actively looking to sell Madueke or Sterling. However, they would listen to offers for both wide men.
The report adds that the Blues view imminent signing Neto as a versatile forward that can play on the right, left or No 10 position.
This comes after Gianluca Di Marzio recently claimed that Juventus have requested information about Sterling as a target.
Noni Madueke will be desperately unlucky to be let go
Madueke, who’s just 22, should definitely be kept in the first-team squad moving into the new season.
The right-winger’s still a bit erratic in his play and needs to find consistency, but he’s done enough to earn his spot in Enzo Maresca’s squad.
He’s had a very good pre-season so far with three goals in five matches, plus some eye-catching performances. It would be very unfair to even entertain bids for him during what’s left of the summer transfer window.
If any Chelsea wingers should be looking over their shoulders right now, it should be Sterling or Mykhailo Mudryk.
