Journalist Dean Jones has claimed to GiveMeSport that Chelsea are not currently leading the race to sign Mohammed Kudus.
The Ghanian international has enjoyed a breakout campaign at the World Cup in Qatar, scoring twice in the group stages.
He certainly looked as if he was far more naturally suited to an attacking role, after starting the tournament as a midfielder.

Goals in the first two matches gave the African side a genuine chance at qualification from their World Cup group, however a crushing defeat to rivals Uruguay saw them exit at the first stage.
Despite being knocked out, Kudus has come to the attention of many of the elite sides in Europe.
Chelsea are one of these teams, however Jones has said that the Blues are currently not one of the favourites to get a deal done.
Chelsea not favourites for Kudus
He said: “He was always likely to be a breakout player from this tournament. He’s had scouts tracking him all season.
“From what I know, Chelsea aren’t one of those that are leading the race or anything like that. With Chelsea, specifically, I’m not sure they’re there right now.”
The Blues will no doubt be looking to strengthen from as early as January as they look to recover from what has been an underwhelming first half of the domestic season.

In terms of attacking reinforcements, the club will likely be looking to finalise the anticipated signing of Christopher Nkunku.
Fabrizio Romano has all-but confirmed that the Blues will bring the RB Leipzig man to Stamford Bridge, and his ability to play anywhere along the frontline makes him a very intriguing signing.
While injury stopped him being able to show his talents at the World Cup like Kudus, his prolonged time performing at the top makes him a safer option to sign.
