What super agent Jorge Mendes now wants Chelsea to do as AC Milan continue to target Joao Felix

Chelsea signed Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid last summer and not for a small fee.

Joao Felix joined Chelsea in a £45m deal, returning to the club after a six-month loan spell there during the 2022/23 season.

However, the forward’s future in west London is already uncertain amid interest from AC Milan.

Milan have Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku on their radar, with both players failing to establish themselves in Enzo Maresca‘s starting XI this season.

Jorge Mendes wants Chelsea to soften stance

Chelsea are not making things easy for Milan in their pursuit of Felix. However, Jorge Mendes, who represents the 25-year-old, wants that to change.

According to TEAMtalk, the Italian giants only want to sign Felix on loan with an option to buy for £33.8m, but Chelsea want more than that and either a permanent transfer or a loan with obligation.

The same outlet claims that Mendes will now try to get Chelsea to soften their stance, so this may not be over yet.

It is believed Milan prefer Felix over Marcus Rashford, whose future at his own club, Manchester United, is also very uncertain at the minute.

What else could prevent Joao Felix from joining AC Milan this month?

Milan may also need to sort out some issues at home before they can bring Felix to the San Siro.

TEAMtalk’s report states that room must be made in Sergio Conceicao’s squad first if Felix is to be signed. Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic are two candidates to go.

Chelsea could be left very light in the No.10 position if both Felix and Nkunku leave the club during the January transfer window.

Right now, though, it looks like Milan will struggle to land either player, while it is hard to imagine Chelsea selling both attackers because of the above.

As well as Bayern Munich, two Premier League clubs also want Nkunku, who has only made three starts in the top flight this season.
