Reports have claimed that Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are both keen on moves away from Chelsea this summer.
The German has cited his lack of gametime over the last 12 months under Thomas Tuchel as a reason why he could be happy playing his football elsewhere.
Ziyech meanwhile has reportedly seen his relationship with the manager fracture over recent months, with AC Milan looking to end the Moroccan’s two-year spell in London.
The news that Tuchel is reportedly at the centre of the two players’ decisions to want to leave will be worrying to supporters.
The former PSG boss has worked wonders with the Chelsea squad so far, notably in their Champions League success last year, despite utilising signings mostly made by Frank Lampard before him.
Worries over Ziyech and Werner sales
Supporters who have followed the club since the turn of the century will be used to quick changes of the man in charge, even if they bring plenty of success like Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti did.
This is why they will have been originally excited that it seems the new American owners are willing to back Tuchel, showing their intentions to do so during this transfer window.
However, signs of his fractious past coming back up at Stamford Bridge could become worrying, with it seeming he is struggling right now to keep players happy who aren’t guaranteed starters.
With a squad the size of Chelsea’s, this is an important skill to have, with disharmony spreading quickly when it’s allowed to run.
The German was not short of incidents with his former club PSG, and Chelsea will be hopeful this doesn’t become a regular trait as the pressures and frustrations of competing with Manchester City and Liverpool begin to stack up.
Either way, it will be worrying what the future for the manager looks like if he is not backed how he would like this summer, with Todd Boehly may need to look elsewhere if he lets Tuchel down.
