Why Juventus can’t make a serious move for Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling yet

Juventus are interested in signing Raheem Sterling from Chelsea this summer, and the winger looks available.

Raheem Sterling was left out of the Chelsea matchday squad for their 2-0 loss against Manchester City over the weekend, throwing his future into doubt.

It resulted in the player’s camp releasing a statement, adding to the chaos at Chelsea right now. It has been a summer where Chelsea have seen deals collapse and banished first-team members to the U21s.

Sterling isn’t planning to hand in a transfer request, but that could change if he finds himself exiled alongside the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Romelu Lukaku.

Raheem Sterling not an easy transfer for Juventus

Juventus are looking at Sterling right now, but bringing the 29-year-old to the Allianz Stadium will not be a straightforward task.

According to the Daily Mail, the Italian giants will need to reduce their current wage bill before they are able to make a concrete move for Sterling.

So far, the outlet claims that Juventus have only made an enquiry about the England international.

Enzo Maresca has Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Mykhailo Mudryk, while Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix is also set to join Chelsea. At this stage, Sterling probably needs a club like Juventus to come in and offer him a way out of west London. He is unlikely to be a starter there this season.

Chelsea should work with Juventus to find agreement over Raheem Sterling

Chelsea should do what they can to offload Sterling to Juventus before the transfer window closes.

After being left out of the game against City and with Felix set to arrive at Stamford Bridge, Sterling could easily become surplus to requirements, if he is not already.

The former City and Liverpool star is on massive wages as well, which Chelsea need to try and get off their books, especially if he is not going to be a regular under their manager this season.
