Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made an enquiry to try sign a Chelsea player on Friday’s deadline day.

Chelsea are now running out of time to complete their business during what’s been an extremely busy summer transfer window, which officially shuts at 11pm tonight.

Chelsea, who recently beat Wolves 6-2 in the Premier League, have already conducted business with the Midlands club this summer. The Blues secured the high-profile signing of Portuguese attacker Pedro Neto, who left Molineux Stadium after five years as a Wolves player.

Neto should definitely come into Chelsea’s best starting XI because he’s a spectacular player and signing.

Wolves make contact for Trevoh Chalobah

According to LondonWorld, Wolves have now made an enquiry to sign Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah on deadline day.

It is explained that the 25-year-old Blues defender won’t be rushed into a decision about his future. In fact, he’s even prepared to wait until the New Year to move if the right offer doesn’t come his way.

The report says that Chalobah has been informed he won’t play at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca, albeit the club’s board are really impressed by his professionalism despite his exile from the first-team squad.

This deal would be phenomenal for Wolves

If Wolves secure the deadline-day signing of Chalobah, their fans should be ecstatic. Let’s wait and see if the Chelsea central defender is interested in linking up with Gary O’Neil’s side, though.

We’ve just seen first-hand that Wolves are defensively weak following the exit of Max Kilman, so they could do with some reinforcements at the back.

Chalobah may have been cast aside by Chelsea, but that’s certainly not a reflection of his quality. He was actually the club’s most impressive centre-half towards the back end of last season, but they want to sell their academy graduate for pure profit.

Speaking via BBC’s Match of the Day last year, Shaun Wright-Phillips hailed Chalobah as “superb” after a performance. We’re convinced he would arrive at Wolves and quickly become their star centre-back.
