Mauricio Pochettino really likes Chelsea player Mason Mount, according to reports.

Mauricio Pochettino is being widely tipped to become the next permanent manager at Stamford Bridge.

For instance, The Daily Mail claimed yesterday that Chelsea have had ‘incredibly positive’ talks with Pochettino and he’s expected to become their next boss.

If appointed, let’s see who the 51-year-old coach picks out as favourites at the Bridge. There’s speculation that Mason Mount could be one individual.

The Telegraph has reported that Pochettino is a ‘big fan’ of Mount.

We’ve seen plenty of domestic and international managers enjoying working with the 24-year-old Blues star, so could Pochettino be the latest to join that list?

Mount is likely to miss the rest of this season through, confirmed by Frank Lampard yesterday (official website).

The attacking midfielder has shown over the years just how important he’s been to the Chelsea squad, though.

There’s been a lot of discussions recently regarding Mount’s future, with his current deal at Chelsea due expire in the summer of 2024.

Alli had 107 direct goal contributions in 194 games with Pochettino as his coach, thriving as an attacking midfielder behind a central striker.

Danny Murphy recently described Mount as a “terrific” player that would get into the Manchester United or Liverpool team. We want to see him as a centrepiece in the new era under Pochettino.
