BlueCo finally come to realisation 12 months too late, it would have saved Chelsea £45m

The exodus of Chelsea players is growing. Tyrique George becomes the third player to be sold by the Blues this summer, and many more are expected to follow, such as Alejandro Garnacho.

George has completed a permanent move to Everton despite the Toffees missing the window in which they could activate the clause in his loan deal. The two sides have agreed a total package worth £24m.

BlueCo are proving stubborn.

An initial £18m goes straight into Chelsea’s coffers as pure profit, taking the overall total raked in this summer to an impressive £86.5m after Marc Cucurella and Jimmy-Jay Morgan were also sold by Chelsea.

It also includes the £17m received from Man City for Enzo Maresca’s compensation. More is expected to follow, with Trevoh Chalobah, Andrey Santos, Mamadou Sarr and Garnacho all linked with the exit door.

BlueCo make Garnacho decision a year too late

According to Football London, Chelsea have made a decision on Garnacho’s future. The Blues will only consider selling the Argentina international permanently, just one season after he joined for £40m.

Garnacho has failed to prove that transfer fee, and Chelsea fans have grown fed up with his disappointing attitude and body language during games. More often than not, Garnacho is the subject of boos.

Amid reports that Roma are considering a loan move for the ex-Man United winger, Chelsea have made a decision. It is that they will not consider loan exits for Garnacho, and are only open to a permanent sale.

Had BlueCo taken this stance last summer before signing him, they would have saved themselves a £40m fee and a further £5m in wages, with Garnacho believed to earn almost £100,000 a week in West London.

BlueCo would have saved themselves £45m if they had listened

The decision to sign Garnacho was questioned in the first place. Man United fans had also grown tired of Garnacho’s inconsistency and his self-driven performances. An ego far bigger than his actual quality.

Large sections of Chelsea’s support didn’t want Garnacho signed, and a year on, they have been proven right with Chelsea already open to selling him. Ultimately, it is a massive waste of BlueCo’s money.

Chelsea could have used that cash and easily signed a winger who would have taken the Blues forward. Instead, BlueCo are left to lick their wounds, and the likelihood is that Garnacho only departs for a loss.

Whether Roma want to sign Garnacho permanently remains unclear. Given his inconsistency and his poor attitude, clubs will be cautious about a deal beyond a loan. BlueCo have fired a shot in its own foot.
