While things have mostly gone right for Chelsea this season, that has not always been the case since the club were taken over.
Under Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, the Blues have made some huge mistakes.
Sacking Thomas Tuchel and hiring Graham Potter to replace him will go down as one, while breaking the bank for Mykhailo Mudryk is another decision that has to be questioned.
Fast forward to the present, and Chelsea could be about to make another one with the January transfer window now open.

Chelsea could offload Renato Veiga
Chelsea only signed Renato Veiga from Basel last summer, bringing him in for a small £12m fee. However, it looks like the versatile defender could already be off.
It has been reported that both Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Veiga this month.
It looks like a move to a Serie A club could also be an option for the 21-year-old. It was recently claimed that Veiga had been offered to Italian giants Juventus.
All things considered, though, letting Veiga go could come back to haunt Chelsea.

Renato Veiga has been underused this season
Veiga is an extremely versatile footballer, able to play at left-back and in central defence and midfield.
Standing at 6’3″, the Portuguese has good height and at 21, he still has massive potential to fulfil. Again, Veiga only cost £12m as well.
Ultimately, the former Basel star, who became a Portugal international this season, could go on to become a top player. It is why selling him could end up being another massive gaffe in the Boehly era at Chelsea.
What the above also shows is that Enzo Maresca has probably underused Veiga in the current campaign.
The Chelsea manager has had injuries and suspensions at centre-back, left-back and in midfield, yet Veiga has only made one start in the Premier League.
| Renato Veiga’s 2024/25 Premier League stats | Total |
| Appearances | 7 |
| Starts | 1 |
| Minutes | 176 |
| Goals | 0 |
| Assists | 0 |
| Yellow cards | 0 |
| Red cards | 0 |
From his point of view, you could understand if he wanted to leave Chelsea this month. But allowing him to do so permanently would be a mistake on their end.
