Chelsea fans do not have long now until they get to see Estevao Willian hold up a blue shirt.
Estevao turns 18 on Thursday, meaning that he will be old enough to officially join Chelsea this summer.
Given his talent, if you are a Chelsea supporter, it is exciting news. However, it is not a good development for some of the current attackers in Enzo Maresca‘s squad.
The likes of Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke could find themselves in a bit of bother. It has already been reported that Newcastle United could sign Madueke when the transfer window opens.

Chelsea should sell Christopher Nkunku once Estevao Willian arrives
Regarding Nkunku, with his best position being just behind the striker, Chelsea can afford to let him go once they have Estevao through the door.
Estevao can easily cover for Cole Palmer there, with his agent having claimed last month that Chelsea have given his client assurances over playing in the No.10 role.
When Andre Curry spoke about Chelsea’s acquisition of Estevao, he said: “It was the only club that saw us as number 10, to play in midfield. I may be wrong, but we will have the opportunity. I think we will be right, so that was also something that weighed heavily.
“In my opinion, on my team he plays as a number 10. They like to put him on the wing. I think it is too narrow for a player of that quality, I think that… like all players of that quality in the world, it is usually the number 10, so the number 10 plays inside.”
Nkunku already looks a bit redundant at Chelsea, as Maresca has not really been able to find him a position to play.
And with Estevao arriving, they may be able to cope without the likes of Nkunku and Joao Felix, the other attacking midfielder on Chelsea’s books.
In terms of possible destinations for the 27-year-old, the Allianz Arena remains an option. Bayern Munich are still interested in Nkunku after trying to sign him in January.

How much Chelsea could sell Christopher Nkunku for
If Nkunku does depart Stamford Bridge, it looks like Chelsea will make a loss on the Frenchman.
It has been claimed that Chelsea are willing to sell Nkunku for just £35m after signing him for £52m.
All in all, Nkunku has failed to deliver in west London, with injuries partly to blame. He has scored just three goals in the Premier League this season, though he has been limited to just nine starts under Maresca.
| Christopher Nkunku’s Premier League stats | Appearances | Starts | Minutes | Goals | Assists |
| 2024/25 | 27 | 9 | 910 | 3 | 2 |
| 2023/24 | 11 | 2 | 439 | 2 | 0 |
| Total | 38 | 11 | 1,349 | 5 | 2 |
If Chelsea really do see Estevao as an individual who can play in the middle as well as on the right, then Nkunku and Felix should both be allowed to leave the Bridge this summer.
