Chelsea would be making a huge mistake letting Club World Cup star leave for London rivals this summer

Enzo Maresca will not be too fussed about some players leaving Chelsea during this transfer window.

The above includes the likes of Joao Felix, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling, who are not part of the Chelsea manager‘s plans.

Felix has been allowed to join Al-Nassr and Chilwell and Sterling will follow him out of the exit door if offers arrive.

There are a couple of squad players at Chelsea, though, that Maresca will not want to see depart. And ultimately, selling them could prove to be a mistake.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall a very useful player for Enzo Maresca

Rating him very highly, Maresca will be disappointed if Tosin Adarabioyo departs this summer, while the same applies to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Dewsbury-Hall was not a key player for Chelsea last season. In fact, the midfielder only made two starts in the Premier League.

However, he made a significant contribution to Chelsea’s Conference League success and also helped the Blues to win the Club World Cup.

Dewsbury-Hall made five appearances during the tournament and scored one goal, which came in the round of 16 against Benfica.

Despite his lack of starts in the 2024/25 campaign, the Englishman did not complain. He had no issues with how Maresca used him on the pitch either, playing as both a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder.

Simply put, Dewsbury-Hall is the ultimate pro. It is no surprise that Fulham are now trying to sign Dewsbury-Hall from their west London rivals.

But if the former Leicester City star is not desperate to leave Stamford Bridge, then Chelsea should be trying to keep hold of him.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s stats last season

While Dewsbury-Hall was not a regular starter in the Chelsea team last term, he was still able to make just over 35 appearances in all competitions.

In total, the Chelsea man scored five goals, with four of them all coming in the Conference League.

With Chelsea competing in the Champions League instead of the Conference League next season, Dewsbury-Hall may not get as many opportunities to play in Europe.

But again, if the threat of that is not a problem for him and he wishes to remain at Stamford Bridge, then the club should be retaining his services.
