As there’s a pause in domestic football for October’s international break, it is worth looking at how Chelsea’s 2025 summer signings have fared so far this season.
The Blues have made a mixed start to the 2025-26 campaign, where Enzo Maresca will be looking to enjoy a strong second year as the head coach.
Maresca’s side are successfully through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, plus they have three points from two games in the Champions League. The Premier League is largely where they will be judged, though.
Chelsea’s win against Liverpool last weekend means they sit seventh in the division table after seven league games.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 5 | 7 | 4 | 1 | 2 | 15 | 6 | 9 | 13 | |
| 6 | 7 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 9 | 5 | 4 | 12 | |
| 7 | 7 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 13 | 9 | 4 | 11 | |
| 8 | 7 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 9 | 7 | 2 | 11 | |
| 9 | 7 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 7 | 6 | 1 | 11 |
Like Chelsea, it has been a mixed bag so far from the summer signings that have gone straight into the first team.
Here is a look at how the new players have got on so far…

Joao Pedro
Overall, Joao Pedro has made a pretty strong start to the new season, playing a key role in the XI.
The 23-year-old attacker has started every league match, chipping in with two goals and three assists already. We’ve seen how useful his versatility can be, too, featuring as both a number 10 and striker already.
Pedro was left out of Brazil’s squad this month, which is great news because he was starting to look a bit fatigued. We expect to see him back fit and firing after the internationals because he’s integral, especially because of Cole Palmer’s injury.
Rating: 8/10
Alejandro Garnacho
For Alejandro Garnacho, 21, it is fair to say that he’s still feeling his way into his Chelsea career. Perhaps that shouldn’t be a surprise because he had a disrupted summer and didn’t get his transfer move until late in the window.
Even though Garnacho was bright against Liverpool, the left-winger has zero goals and zero assists from five appearances across all competitions.
Rating: 5/10
Estevao Willian
Estevao Willian already feels like a fan favourite around Stamford Bridge because he’s living up to the hype as a potential future superstar.
So far this season, he’s got just one goal and one assist in nine matches in various competitions. That doesn’t tell the story of how lively the 18-year-old right-winger has been, though. The truth is there is a buzz within the fanbase whenever he gets the ball because he’s capable of creating something.
Estevao’s winning goal against Liverpool last weekend was the perfect way to properly introduce himself to English audiences.
We’ve gone with a conservative rating for now because he’s yet to complete a full 90 minutes, and there is still so much more to come from him.
Rating: 7/10
Jamie Gittens
It has been a frustrating campaign to date for Jamie Gittens, 21, since making his switch to Chelsea.

The concrete facts are that the left-winger has zero goals and zero assists from seven attempts across all competitions, where he’s struggled to grab any game by the scruff of the neck. However, there are glimpses from the rapid attacker to suggest his time will come.
Rating: 5/10
Jorrel Hato
For Jorrel Hato, he’s going to need to show plenty of patience this term.
The 19-year-old defender has gone from an Ajax starter to a squad player at Chelsea, so it may take a bit of time to adapt.
He’s made five appearances across all competitions, including three starts, and hasn’t done anything noteworthy yet. Even though he can cover at centre-half, we much prefer him at left-back as an alternative to Marc Cucurella.
Rating: 5/10
Liam Delap
The fact that Liam Delap picked up a hamstring injury in just the third game of the season was a significant blow. Prior to that, we enjoyed what we saw from the bullish 22-year-old centre-forward.
Delap was really impressive against West Ham in the 5-1 away win, so we can’t wait for his return.
Rating: 6/10
Facundo Buonanotte
Unlike everybody else on this list, Facundo Buonanotte only joined Chelsea on loan rather than a permanent basis. It doesn’t prevent the 20-year-old playmaker from looking like a shrewd bit of business, though.
The attacking midfielder, who has one goal in three games this season, clearly won’t be a regular starter for the Blues, but he’s a tidy footballer that can cover multiple attacking roles.
Rating: 6/10
Dario Essugo
It is impossible to rate Dario Essugo so far in the 2025-26 season because the defensive midfielder hasn’t featured and is out until the New Year with an injury.
Based on his Club World Cup performances and his potential, the 20-year-old youngster could be an excellent addition when fit again.
