This summer, a lot of Chelsea players saw their time at Stamford Bridge come to an end.
Conor Gallagher, for example, was sold to Atletico Madrid. And as long as Enzo Maresca remains in charge, there seems to be no way back for the likes of Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah either.
Sterling and Chalobah only left Chelsea on loan, but with the amount of attacking and defensive options Maresca has, it is hard to imagine them being reintegrated back into the first-team squad.
Despite the defensive options Chelsea have, the club could make a move for another centre-back next year, which could be bad news for Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.

Chelsea interested in Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi
Chelsea are already in possession of Disasi, Badiashile, Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Nevertheless, it looks like they could still make a move for another centre-half in 2025.
It has been claimed that Chelsea may swoop for £70m Marc Guehi in the new year following his failed switch to Newcastle United.
It is a transfer that some Chelsea supporters are likely to approve of, given Guehi‘s incredible rise over the last few years.
“We have been really impressed by his performances. They have been outstanding,” Guehi’s England teammate Ezri Konsa told BBC Sport in July.
Not everyone at Chelsea will be happy to see Guehi arrive, though, if he does end up returning to Stamford Bridge.
Marc Guehi’s potential arrival could spell bad news for Axel Disasi
Disasi is already struggling to break into the Chelsea first team, with Maresca preferring Colwill and Fofana during this early part of the season.
The arrival of another centre-half, especially one of Guehi’s ability, would probably finish off Disasi.
In fact, it was reported during the summer transfer window that Chelsea were open to selling Disasi, and that stance will not change if Guehi joins.
Badiashile could also be in a bit of trouble, but the 23-year-old is left-footed and can help Chelsea to retain their balance at the back if anything happens to Colwill. Therefore, if Guehi is to push anyone out of the club, it will probably be Disasi, rather than Badiashile.
