Enzo Maresca has proven to be very loyal to some of his first team players in his first few months as Chelsea manager.

The boss has stuck by some individuals who have not let him down earlier in the campaign, however is beginning to run the risk of showing blind faith in some of them.

Maresca has an extremely large squad of talented players to deal with, and is doing a good job at using all competitions available to him to play them.

However, some of them are entitled to more Premier League minutes based on their performances, and should be handed more chances after the international break.

Chelsea players who deserve more minutes after international break

Mykhailo Mudryk

Despite a rough time of it as a whole since Mykhailo Mudryk joined Chelsea nearly two years ago, there have certainly been improvements to his game under Maresca.

Mudryk was one of the only positives in their Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle, and has more goal contributions than games in the Conference League this season.

With Pedro Neto thought by many to be better on the right-wing, he could be shifting there soon, leaving a vacancy on the left of attack.

The Ukraine international has earned the trust of a manager who has certainly not given him an easy ride, and should start when club football returns in a week and a half’s time.

Christopher Nkunku

Christopher Nkunku is remarkably Chelsea’s top scorer this season, despite the fact that he has started just one Premier League game so far.

Goals have been almost easy to come by in the cup competitions for the Frenchman, but that job is certainly not what he moved to Stamford Bridge for.

Reports have stated that Nkunku is concerned about his gametime, and other elite clubs will certainly have noticed this.

Even if it is just to put other sides off thinking they can sign him, the forward has to be considered for more minutes after the international break.

Filip Jorgensen

If there is one position that has certainly frustrated Chelsea fans this season then it is goalkeeper.

Robert Sanchez is costing Chelsea points

Maresca has had a lot of faith in Robert Sanchez despite a catalogue of errors in the Premier League, as Filip Jorgensen waits in the wings.

The young goalkeeper joined over the summer, however has had his minutes restricted to cup competitions so far.

The manager needs to make the change before it costs him too many points before the end of the season, and Jorgensen is more than due his chance to prove himself.
