Cole Palmer grabbed the third for Chelsea against West Ham United in the lunchtime kick-off, but rather than basking in glory he was quick to praise one of his teammates after the game.

Enzo Maresca‘s work behind the scenes is starting to pay off as Chelsea put in another dominant away performance, with a 3-0 win at the London Stadium.

Nicolas Jackson grabbed a brace and Cole Palmer scored the third.

Interestingly, Jackson has now passed Olivier Giroud for goals for Chelsea, which goes to show how good the African striker has been, despite some criticism.

Scott Minto has been full of praise for Palmer, and even claimed he should have won the Premier League Player of the Year award for last season.

Despite his impressive performance against West Ham, Palmer chose to praise one of his teammates.

Cole Palmer says he rates Chelsea teammate ‘highly’ after West Ham display

Cole Palmer is very unselfish on the field and he’s starting to show how genuine and level-headed he is off the field too.

Talking on TNT Sports after the game alongside Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer said that he rates his teammate highly and told him to keep going.

When asked about how Nicolas Jackson played, he said.

“Yeah top, everyone knows he’s a top player. He just needs to keep going and I’m sure he’ll get better and better.

“Everyone at Chelsea, the Chelsea fans, the players, we all rate him very highly and we know what he’s capable of.”

Jackson’s performance in numbers this season for Chelsea

Nicolas Jackson admitted recently that he doesn’t score enough headers, so it was nice to bag one against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, it was with his feet that he scored his goals today in fine fashion, slotting through the legs of the goalkeeper for the first and an outside-of-the-boot finish for the second.

Jackson now has four goals in his opening five Premier League games, repaying Maresca for keeping his faith in him and Todd Boehly will be happy after handing him a new long-term deal.

But, none of this will matter if his form drops off from here, so consistency will be key.
