Nicolas Jackson admits he doesn’t do one thing enough for Chelsea

For just over £30m, Nicolas Jackson has proven to be quite a good signing for Chelsea.

Nicolas Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal last summer and managed to score 17 goals in his debut season.

However, there are still areas of his game that need improvement. For example, Jackson’s finishing is often criticised.

The striker, though, has been speaking about another department that he could perhaps work on.

Nicolas Jackson honest about heading

One of the two goals Jackson has scored in the Premier League this season has been a header, which came in Chelsea’s 6-2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Even so, Jackson does not score enough headers, that is according to the player himself.

Speaking about one header he scored away at Brentford last season in a video on Chelsea’s official Instagram account, the 23-year-old said: “Against Brentford, they were booing me and I love the boos, then I scored two minutes after.

“It was good because I don’t score a lot of headers, but this one was high and an amazing header.”

Jackson also revealed how much he loves doing backheels, netting with a very clever flick in one match last term.

Nicolas Jackson should score more headers

Standing at around 6’2″, Jackson probably can do a bit better in the air. Instead, it is on the ground where the Senegal international often thrives.

Jackson is a really good dribbler. Last season, he completed 1.5 dribbles per game in the Premier League. Only Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke (both 1.6) managed to record higher averages in Chelsea’s squad, according to WhoScored.

Still, Jackson will want to score more headers and goals overall, and that should happen, given all of the quality wide options Enzo Maresca possesses.

The Blues signed Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto during the summer, two quality wingers who should be able to put good balls into the box for Jackson to dispatch.

It only took Sancho 45 minutes to register his first assist for Chelsea after he came on to set up Christopher Nkunku over the weekend. Chelsea fans will be hoping to see him do the same for Jackson.
