Chelsea beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 on Saturday, with Cole Palmer scoring all four of his side’s goals.
One of Cole Palmer‘s strikes was a penalty and gave Chelsea‘s set-piece coach Bernardo Cueva an opportunity to do something during the match.
Following his four-goal display, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is the only player who has netted more times in the Premier League than the Blues attacker this season.
“It’s insane,” former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy said when discussing Palmer’s latest performance at Stamford Bridge.

Bernardo Cueva took advantage of Cole Palmer’s penalty
While the Chelsea team celebrated Palmer’s goal from the penalty spot, which put the Blues 2-1 up on the afternoon, Cueva used it as an opportunity to pass on some important information to Robert Sanchez.
According to journalist Rahman Osman, Sanchez was called over during that part of the match before Chelsea’s set-piece coach gave him some “vital” information.
While Chelsea went on to win the match 4-2, Sanchez had a game to forget, making two costly mistakes.
After the Blues’ victory, Sanchez took to Instagram to acknowledge his errors.
Robert Sanchez’s mistakes understandable
It is easy to criticise Sanchez after his errors, but some perspective is needed. His first one probably came from a bit of overconfidence, which can happen when you are in the kind of form he is in.
In the West Ham United game last weekend, the 26-year-old was coming out of his goal and collecting and punching every ball.
He had the confidence to try and do the same against Brighton, but that obviously backfired. As for his next mistake, it came from trying to play out from the back, and Enzo Maresca himself has warned supporters that such an error is going to occur because of the way he wants Chelsea to play.
“We will concede 10 more goals like the second one because it is the way we want to play,” the Chelsea manager said after the game.
Ultimately, Chelsea fans should not be too harsh on Sanchez, especially after his displays against West Ham and Bournemouth earlier this month.
