Chelsea appear to be one club who Victor Osimhen liked growing up.

Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and has had some interesting things to say on the podcast of former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel, The Obi One Podcast.

Signing the Nigerian striker is going to cost a lot of money, though.

Last month, TEAMtalk claimed that while Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea want a high-quality, experienced striker like Osimhen, it will take a massive £140m fee to get him out of Napoli.

Speaking to Mikel on The Obi One Podcast, Osimhen has shared that he actually had a Chelsea shirt growing up.

The 24-year-old said: “I had two jerseys from my brother when I was a kid — Chelsea and Manchester United.”

If Osimhen does decide it is time for a new challenge in January or next summer, he may very well fancy a move to Chelsea.

The Blues seem to be one team he liked in his younger days, while they are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Chelsea may not be able to offer Osimhen Champions League football for the 2024/25 season, but a move to Pochettino’s side would still see him get the chance to play in the Premier League.

Yesterday’s 4-4 draw between Chelsea and Manchester City was just one example of why the English top flight is the best division in football. It is something that a lot of players would want to be a part of.

If that is not the case for Osimhen or he does not want to join Chelsea, there are other options out there. Daniel Sturridge thinks Brentford’s Ivan Toney, for example, could be perfect for them.

But if Nicolas Jackson keeps on scoring, maybe there will not be any need for Osimhen or Toney.
