£35m striker who Chelsea fans didn’t want to sign has just scored another first half hat-trick

With all the signings Chelsea made over the summer, there is one position in particular where they decided to stick to what they already had.

The Blues rejected the chance to sign a striker, instead insisting that they had plenty of faith in what Nicolas Jackson could do up front.

This backing has seemed to pay off so far, with Jackson seeming to strike up a brilliant relationship with superstar Cole Palmer.

Despite this, there was still large efforts made to sign a new goalscorer over the summer. It was reported they were pushing hard to complete a deal for Victor Osimhen on deadline day.

He was not the only name they were linked with though, with it being claimed that they were keen on the addition of Samu Omorodion.

The deal looked as if it was set to go through too, however things fell apart late on and the Blues ended up signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid instead.

The young striker has been in excellent form in front of goal this season, and found the net three times in the first half of Porto’s 5-0 win last night against AVS Futebol SAD.

The forward grabbed himself a lot of headlines for his recent performances on international duty. Omorodion scored four times for the Spain U21 side.

Chelsea fans were not impressed when they were linked with the signing of Omorodion midway through the window.

The same kind of reaction met links to Jhon Duran, with the Aston Villa forward now absolutely flying whenever he features in the Premier League or Champions League.
