Several Chelsea players have shown improvement under their new manager Enzo Maresca this season.
The likes of Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke, for example, have looked really sharp following the Chelsea boss‘ arrival.
After Cole Palmer, Jackson and Madueke are the two top scorers in Chelsea‘s ranks for this Premier League campaign.
| Rank | Chelsea’s top scorers in the Premier League | Number of goals |
| 1. | Cole Palmer | 7 |
| 2. | Nicolas Jackson | 6 |
| 3. | Noni Madueke | 4 |
Moises Caicedo is another player who has really come on this term, scoring a marvellous goal against Manchester United over the weekend. Thiago Silva was very impressed with Caicedo following his display at Old Trafford.

For former striker Alan Shearer, Caicedo was the best player on the pitch in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with United.
Under Maresca’s tutelage, Shearer thinks that the midfielder has really improved.
Naming Caicedo in his Premier League Team of the Week, the Newcastle United legend said: “The Chelsea midfielder is improving rapidly, scoring a great goal, and was the best player on the pitch at Old Trafford.”
Micah Richards also thought that Caicedo was outstanding at Old Trafford as the 23-year-old helped his side to earn a point.

After Palmer, Caicedo is probably Chelsea’s second-most important player. They do not have another midfielder like him.
The Ecuadorian is excellent at winning the ball back and that is reflected in his stats. In the Premier League this season, he tops the table for tackles and interceptions combined, as per FBref.
| Moises Caicedo | Total |
| Tackles | 35 |
| Interceptions | 17 |
| Combined | 52 |
Ultimately, Chelsea would not be where they are now without Caicedo, who currently earns £150,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, according to Spotrac.
If they can keep him, Palmer and Jackson fit, then the club should have a good season. A Champions League spot looks more than attainable, with Maresca’s men currently sitting fourth in the table.
Defeat against London rivals Arsenal on Sunday, though, will see them drop out of the top four, so Maresca needs to see another big performance from Caicedo. If he shows up, then Chelsea have a great chance of taking something from the game.
