Chelsea do not look ready to give up on one of their big-money signings just yet despite him not playing against Manchester City.
The likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke failed to make an appearance from off the bench, while Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell were not even in the matchday squad for the game.
Following a statement from his camp, Sterling’s future is now in as much doubt as Chilwell’s. Despite registering an interest in him, though, Juventus aren’t able to sign Sterling yet.
Things are not looking good for the winger and Chilwell, but one of their teammates does not have to panic yet, even though he was also overlooked during the 2-0 defeat to City.

Chelsea still have faith in Mykhailo Mudryk
Unlike Sterling and Chilwell, Mudryk was included in Chelsea‘s matchday squad over the weekend.
However, the winger did not manage to get onto the pitch, with Enzo Maresca opting for new signing Pedro Neto instead when he decided to take off Christopher Nkunku, who had started the game on the left.
Nevertheless, it looks like Mudryk will remain part of Chelsea’s plans. According to GiveMeSport, the club still believe that he has a big future.
Things could get much trickier for the Ukrainian, though, with Joao Felix set to join Chelsea from Atletico Madrid. That is another attacker whom Mudryk will have to compete against.
Joao Felix could overtake Mykhailo Mudryk in the pecking order at Chelsea
Felix‘s preferred position is just off the centre-forward, but the 24-year-old can also start on the left and that is where he may have to play at Chelsea.
That is not good news for Mudryk, who could now easily be overtaken by Felix in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
Danny Murphy thinks Mudryk is a talented player, but it is not something people always see. The Ukraine international has struggled to find consistency during his time at Chelsea, finding himself in and out of the team.
If he does not improve, you can imagine a scenario where Felix, Nkunku and Neto are all ahead of him in the pecking order.
