Chelsea supporters are starting to get really excited about a piece of injury news that’s appeared in the media this week.
Chelsea were very unfortunate in the 2023/24 season with several long-term injuries. Thankfully, Enzo Maresca’s side has been less affected in the early weeks of this new campaign, although there’s still been a few concerns.
For example, Blues captain Reece James has already had an injury absence. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer has withdrawn from the England camp in this international break. But journalist Simon Phillips reports that Palmer may still be fit for Chelsea’s next match, which is away to Bournemouth on 14 September.

Chelsea fans on Romeo Lavia injury update
Many Chelsea supporters on social media are ecstatic after hearing the latest injury update on Romeo Lavia.
It’s been claimed by The Telegraph this week that Lavia aims to be fit for Chelsea’s next game against Bournemouth.
The 20-year-old midfielder has missed the last few games with a hamstring problem, but it sounds like he’s closing in on a quick return. Of course, there’s going to be extra concern about injuries with him because he spent nearly the whole of last season on the sidelines.
Here are some Chelsea fans excited for Lavia’s imminent comeback…
One fan said: “Excellent news. Best midfielder.”
Another wrote: “Out midfield is strong again.”
A third user posted: “He can’t come back soon enough. Lavia has to start ahead of Enzo on current form, if fit.”
One supporter claimed: “Wow this is very good.”
Another shared: “Huge boost.”
Romeo Lavia will break into best Chelsea XI
Based off his limited minutes so far in Chelsea colours, Lavia is a special midfielder. For the Belgian youngster, his biggest aim is to keep himself match fit.
The deep-lying midfield playmaker can be the perfect player in Maresca’s system, something he showed when he was superb in the opening day defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League.
Lavia is a £58m signing (Sky Sports) by Chelsea that can easily make that transfer fee worth every penny. However, the defensive midfielder needs to be fit and available to do that.
We’re confident that he’s got all the tools in his game to nail down a permanent spot in Chelsea’s best line-up.
