The young squad Chelsea name every week in the Premier League is only matched by the majority of players they have out on loan.

A number of those individuals will be hoping to have made an impression already on Enzo Maresca, with them wanting to be part of his side going forwards.

The door is open still for Djordje Petrovic to break back into the Chelsea side, with him currently on loan at Strasbourg.

There is not a lot of confidence from Chelsea fans in Robert Sanchez at the moment, and the long-term goalkeeper future is still very much up in the air.

Santos has been named in the U21 Team of the Season so far, and yesterday was another example of his individual brilliance despite a 2-1 loss to Nice.

Yesterday saw the 20-year-old actually named captain by manager Liam Rosenior, a clear backing of how much faith they have in him.

Chelsea have been really impressed by Santos on loan this season, and it is clear that he has certainly been signed with the intention of him breaking into the starting side in the near future.

Enzo Maresca hints Santos could play next season for Chelsea

Enzo Maresca has said Santos could be involved as soon as next season, with him clearly loving what he is seeing over in France.

Chelsea’s current midfield is performing at an extremely high level, with Moises Caicedo one of the first names on the teamsheet.

He was joined by Enzo Fernandez at the weekend against Leicester, despite Romeo Lavia taking his place in the side in recent weeks.

However, it was certainly the right call, with the Argentine scoring the winning goal against the Foxes in the second half.
