Chelsea’s first-team player has reportedly made a really positive impression on the club’s staff in the opening months of this season.
It’s certainly been a confident beginning to the 2024/25 campaign, with Enzo Maresca settling into his role as the Blues manager pretty effortlessly. So far, his side sit fourth in the Premier League table with 14 points from seven games.
We’ll learn a lot more about where this Chelsea team are after the international break as they prepare for a tough set of league fixtures.

Maresca was the Premier League’s Manager of the Month for September, so let’s see if he can keep up the positive mood around the club.

Noni Madueke is seriously impressing
Respected journalist Simon Phillips has claimed via his Substack on Tuesday that Chelsea’s Noni Madueke is receiving rave reviews from everyone at the club.
It is explained that the 22-year-old winger is getting plenty of praise from Cobham staff, largely because of his attitude since the start of pre-season.
Apparently, there’s been a noticeable difference in the player’s maturity and focus this campaign. In particular, sources have spotted a clear difference in both his work rate during training and games, growing into a hard working wide man who will do the defensive side as well.
Phillips further adds that Madueke’s commitment has been noticed and appreciated by Maresca, the coaching staff and everyone at Cobham.
Despite playing for England on Sunday in their win away to Finland, Madueke was back in Chelsea training on Monday. His improved form certainly doesn’t sound like a coincidence.
Noni Madueke has responded to Pedro Neto signing
It looks like Chelsea signing talented attacker Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer sparked a new life into Madueke, whose game has gone up a level in the last couple of months.
Based on current form, Madueke is Chelsea’s starting right-winger. He’ll know he can’t let his levels dip with Neto closely on his heels, though.
Madueke has scored five goals in eight games for the Blues this season across all competitions. We agree that his overall game and work rate is impressive, too.
Mauricio Pochettino described Madueke as “amazing” last season, but it feels like the England international is getting better and better.
