Conor Gallagher has shocked people inside Chelsea with how he’s been performing this season.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk.

Conor Gallagher, 23, has certainly been one of the standout players at Stamford Bridge during the opening third of the campaign.

The England international is thriving under Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino, especially since he was pushed into the No 10 position as the most advanced of a midfield trio.

Speaking on talkSPORT this week, Alan Pardew said that Gallagher is now showing Chelsea fans just how good he actually is. He thinks that he’s recapturing the kind of form he showed during a fantastic loan at rivals Crystal Palace in the 2021/22 season.

TEAMtalk says that Gallagher has become a key figure in the Chelsea ranks this season, featuring in every Premier League match so far.

It is explained that club staff are really surprised by the quality of 23-year-old’s displays this year, especially as he was expected to leave in the summer.

The report mentions that Tottenham came closest to signing the £45millon-rated midfielder a few months ago.

We’re certain that everyone’s feeling pretty relieved that the academy graduate stayed put at the Bridge. He’s a boyhood Chelsea fan now emerging as a massive fan favourite.

Now, speaking via The Telegraph this week, Gallagher explained he’s feel pretty calm and confident that a new contract will be agreed for him at Chelsea.

We doubt many supporters would’ve predicted Gallagher playing so well in the 2023/24 season. Of course, there’s still a very long way to go still.

He’s tailor-made for Pochettino’s system with his amazing stamina and pressing, so perhaps everyone should’ve seen this being a match made in heaven for both parties.

The youngster’s got four assists in his previous five league appearances. His overall work both on and off the ball is earning him huge plaudits from every angle, too.
