Enzo Maresca has given some team news ahead of Chelsea’s game against Southampton on Tuesday.
Ahead of the Premier League tie at Stamford Bridge, Filip Jorgensen‘s position was in doubt.
Jorgensen made a huge error in Chelsea‘s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa over the weekend, costing his side a point.
The 22-year-old recently became the team’s No.1 after Robert Sanchez’s own errors between the sticks, and Maresca has now shared whether anything has changed.

Filip Jorgensen set to start against Southampton
Despite his mistake, it looks like Jorgensen will retain his his spot for the Southampton game and role as No.1 for the unforeseeable future.
Discussing his current stance on the Denmark U21 international after what happened at Villa Park, the Chelsea boss said: “He’s a little bit upset because he made a mistake, but he’s OK. If we need to change players every time they make a mistake, we need to change players game by game. Nothing has changed.”
Maresca finds himself in a really difficult moment at Chelsea and not just because of the goalkeeper situation.
As well as that, the 45-year-old is also having to deal with injury problems. He is without several important first-team players, including Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke and Wesley Fofana.
After attracting interest during the January transfer window, Chelsea are open to keeping Christopher Nkunku, who has been deputising for Jackson. But the latter’s injury has shown that the Blues will probably need to sign a new striker this summer after the former’s lack of impact.

Filip Jorgensen deserves another chance against Southampton
Some fans would have wanted to see Jorgensen dropped after being the cause of Chelsea’s latest defeat. And going forward, the Blues may very well need to bring in a more reliable goalkeeper.
But they cannot do that yet and with Sanchez being guilty of making errors as well, it would be quite harsh to axe Jorgensen after his first.
Maresca has given Sanchez a dozen chances, so it is only fair that he does the same for Jorgensen. Therefore, the former Villarreal man should get the nod when Chelsea take on Southampton at the Bridge Tuesday night.
Now in seventh, it is a game that Maresca’s men have to win, so Jorgensen cannot afford a repeat of what took place at Villa Park at the weekend.
