Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca knows his side can improve despite their bright start to the season.
Chelsea head into their Conference League tie against Gent tonight on the back of four consecutive wins.
Enzo Maresca‘s men beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 last weekend, which followed their victories against Barrow, West Ham United and Bournemouth.
They now find themselves fourth in the Premier League table, and Jamie O’Hara is backing Chelsea to challenge for the title.

Enzo Maresca’s analysis of Brighton game
Following Chelsea’s win against Brighton, Maresca has admitted that his side need to control games better.
“The reason why we conceded something in the first half was not because of the players, it was because we analysed Brighton and we expected them in two different ways — how they were playing at the start of the season,” the Chelsea manager was quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website. “They did something completely different and surprised us a little bit in the first half.
“At half-time we adjusted the way we were pressing, and second half it worked much better. For sure we would like more control, but sometimes you have to see there is another team that wants control, that wants to attack, and it’s not possible.
“But overall we would like more control like the second half or the West Ham game.”
Taking on Conference League opposition, Maresca will be expecting his team to show more control later. It is a game where Filip Jorgensen is likely to start, with the 22-year-old being the Blues’ cup goalkeeper, and Maresca has already told Jorgensen he has to perform well.
Chelsea’s NBA game with Brighton
Going forward, Chelsea definitely need to show more dominance in matches, especially at Stamford Bridge.
The first half of their clash against Brighton became too much of a basketball game, with it being really end to end.
Exciting for the neutral, but not if you were Maresca or a Chelsea supporter. The most important thing is that Chelsea got all three points, but they may not be so fortunate next time if they play like that against better opposition or away from home.
The Blues’ next Premier League match is against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge, and that really is the kind of fixture that Maresca’s men should be dominating.
It will see Callum Hudson-Odoi return to his former club. Hudson-Odoi recently spoke about his Achilles injury at Chelsea and how it gave him the most challenging moment of his career so far.
After that, once the international break is over and club football returns, Chelsea travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool.
